October 2, Coastal Hwy to LA

We left the hotel little after eight and within the first hour we saw tons of birds feeding on the water, elephant seals fighting and sleeping on the beach and feeding in the water, deer in the field, a squirrel on a rock, cattle and zebras grazing together in a field.  Yes, zebras. They were introduced to the area by the Hearst family who have a castle up on the hill nearby. We did not get a very good view of the castle; it was in the distance and a little hazy still.

We stopped at a little beach in Morro Bay and picked up some seashells and found a bunch of sand dollars that washed up.This must be our day for wildlife; we have seen a lot of horses along Hwy 1 and we have even seen some Alpaca. By the time we got back to Los Angeles it was rush-hour this is taking us forever to get across town to the camper. We stopped at an In-N-Out burger for dinner hoping to sit out some of the traffic but it didn't help really.  It took us 2 hours to get across town to the campsite but we still got back early enough to do some laundry.
