October 3-4 Anaheim, CA

We stopped a military base on the way back from SF yesterday and picked up 2-day passes for Disneyland/Disney Adventures at a considerable discount. Thursday we spent at Disneyland. We were able to pick up at bus for $2 a day by the campground to save on gas and parking. Unlike Disney World in FL, Downtown Disney is connected to the two parks and the whole thing is surrounded by the city, not a drive from any town as in FL. The attractions are built on a somewhat smaller scale because of limited space but laid out in such a way that it doesn't feel crowded.

It was actually nice to not have to do so much walking to get around the park. Even the attractions with the same name had slightly different twist from FL which made it interesting.

Disneyland is decorated for fall and Halloween for the fall. There was a was a fall carnival in one area with a petting zoo, crafts and games, and the Haunted House was was completely redone for the occasion.

Friday, we went to Disney Adventures. I rode my first Ferris wheel since I was a kid though I opted for the non-swinging cars.  They lit up the Ferris wheel at night also like a kaleidoscope with changing colors and patterns.

Cars Land was interesting and the Radiator Springs Race ride was fun.

My favorite ride is still Tower of Terror; I prefer it to a roller coaster any day.
