Our drive from Phoenix to Tucson was pleasant; 10 degrees cooler than yesterday (high 80's instead of high 90's) and the terrain was less hilly so got better mileage. We were able to get a campsite at the Air Force Base in Tucson and set up camp mid-day. We went to see San Xavier Mission which was built in the late 1700's and is still being used today. It is slowly being restored.
Then we went to an overlook on the west of Tucson and watched the sun set over hills of saguaro.
