This morning, we went to the National
Museum of Nuclear Science & History which tells
the story of the Atomic Age, from early research of nuclear development
through today’s peaceful uses of nuclear technology. Roger especially enjoyed trying out their flight
simulator. He was able to fly it and
land without crashing.
After lunch, we drove part of the Turquoise Trail which is a
scenic back road between Albuquerque and Santa Fe and found an interesting
museum, called Tinkertown Museum. It began with miniature wood carved figures
and scenes which began as a hobby in 1962 by Ross Ward who said “it was not
intended as a public display, until your interest helped build ‘our museum’”. He slowly added to it over 40 years.
We also took in the Anderson Abruzzo
International Balloon Museum which tells
the history of Ballooning and how and why balloons fly.
