Thursday, September 12th, we left Amarillo, TX about 9am heading west again on I-40 and stopped at Russell's Truck and Travel Center on Historic Route 66 in Glen Rio, NM.  It is much more than your usual truck stop, with a classy Route 66 Diner and a Classic Car and American memorabilia museum.  It not only had at least 25 fully restored cars of various makes, it was packed with every kind of memorabilia imaginable tastefully displayed, from toys to spurs to cash registers, and it was free.  We crossed into another time zone somewhere along the way, so we are now on Mountain Time.

The city bus has a stop by the campground entrance and SR’s can get an all-day pass for $1, so Friday we took it to downtown Santa Fe and went through the NM History Museum and Palace of the Governors,  walked through some of the artsy shops and visited a couple of the churches and the Oldest church and house in the US. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant that the camp host recommended. The Mexican food here is good but a bit different from back home.
